Branding + Packaging

Custom typeface on men’s travel accessories for Fossil.

While working at Fossil I was given the unique opportunity to create a custom typeface that would be used on men’s travel accessories. The theme of the collection was tech and space. I felt the parallel lines worked really well with the “You ‘comb’ here often?” on the dopp kit considering the parallel nature of the combs teeth. The lines also reminded me of wires and circuits which was also fitting to the theme.

Packaging for Baby Alive’s Mix My Medicine Baby.

At Hasbro,I was fortunate to work with the Baby Alive team as they were developing a whole new packaging strategy. Moving forward they wanted all of the packaging to have an emphasis on story telling. We utilized unique die lines and pack-outs to create stories for each doll. I was able to work on just about every aspect of the Mix My Medicine Baby Package, from initial ideation, to directing and styling the product shoot for the package, to laying out the final design. Toy packaging can be a challenge creatively because there is a lot that you need to communicate in a small amount of space to be cost efficient.

Frustration Free Package Design for Littles by Baby Alive.

Another really fun project that I did while at Hasbro with the Baby Alive team was frustration free packaging for Littles by Baby Alive. When a customer orders frustration free packaging, the box that delivers the toy is the same one that the toy is in. These packages eliminate having a cardboard box inside a cardboard box. The team’s biggest focuses were creating a moment of surprise and wonder when the child opened the box and then finding a way for the box to enhance play. One of the boxes included a set of outfits for the dolls, so we made the opened panel look like an open wardrobe displaying the clothes that came in the pack and the bottom of the box was designed to appear like the floor a bedroom.
